BON SECOUR, Ala. — The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Cortez LeVance Porter for capital murder. This charge is a result of Porter’s participation in the robbery and murder of Edward Wayne McCrory on Dec. 22. Porter is being held at the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Corrections Center on no bond.

The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office is currently searching for Floyd Cardale Casey. Investigators have obtained a warrant for capital murder for Casey as a result of his involvement in McCrory’s murder.

The sheriff’s office considers Casey to be armed and extremely dangerous. We would ask anyone having contact with Casey to immediately notify the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office or your local police department.

On Monday, Dec. 22, Baldwin County Sheriff Deputies responded to 6845 County Road 49 where the body of 52-year-old Edward Wayne McCrory was discovered inside his residence. McCrory suffered from multiple stab wounds and blunt force trauma that resulted in his death.

The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division of the sheriff’s office for investigation. After a week of intense investigation, Porter was arrested Dec. 29 for capital murder and a warrant was signed for Cardale Casey.
