ROBERTSDALE, Alabama --- The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the death of a man whose body was found Sept. 6 in Seminole.
The man was found in a swampy area off of U.S. Highway 90 near the Alabama-Florida border on Thursday, Sept. 6 and, according to a release issued Tuesday by BCSO Officer Eric Winberg, he has been identified as Garry McArthur, 57, who was reported missing by family members on Sept. 2, according to missing person reports from the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office in Florida.
“(McArthur’s) body was initially sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for an autopsy and verify positive identification,” Winberg stated in the release. “According to preliminary reports, there were no signs of trauma to the body and foul play is not suspected.”
McArthur was positively identified through “latent fingerprints,” according to the release.
