Shirley J. Waite, 68, a native of Mobile, Ala., and resident of Elberta, passed away Monday, Aug. 15, 2011.
She attended Murphy High School, class of 1961, and was the past president of Alabama Jaycettes.
Mrs. Waite is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Waite, of Elberta, three daughters, Tammy Shaw Wingard of Prattville, Ala., Sharon K. Shaw Whiston of Mobile, and Patricia Shaw Kennedy of Mobile; two stepchildren, Tish Waite Dennis of Trussville, Ala., and Clay Waite of Seminole, Fla.; grandchildren, Connor Wingard, Stevie Whisnand, Blake Whiston, Michael, Nick and Zachary Kennedy, Rebeckah and Lauren Dennis and Nick Waite; great-grandchildren, Chase, Gracie and Caede Whisnand; sisters, Loretta Wright of Hampton, Ga., Glenda Dees of DeFuniak Springs, Fla., and Debbie Richards of Pace, Fla.; uncle, Reggie Copeland, of Mobile; aunts, Francis Lake, Margaret Britian, both of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; and other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, from the Chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Foley. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the service begins.
