Shirley Townsend Clark, dearly departed at age 95, went to be with the Lord on June 15, 2015 in Marietta, Ga.
She was born in Washington, D.C. at George Washington Hospital in 1919 to Clyde and Victorine Townsend.
She was married to the late Fred Clark on Aug. 20, 1938 in Dade County Fla. They enjoyed a long and adventurous life together, traveling all over the world and living in over 20 homes throughout their 65 years of marriage.
Shirley is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janis and Jan Patterson; granddaughter, Lisa, husband, Mike Kiblinger and their children, Robert and Samantha Kiblinger; grandson, Joe Prebianca, wife, Leslie and their children, Joe, Jenna and Jessie Prebianca.
She was predeceased by her son Rick Clark.
Shirley was a lifelong athlete, working as an acrobatic dance instructor, and was an avid golfer for over 45 years, during which time she hit two holes in one and won countless trophies.
Everyone said Shirley had a great sense of humor, often making people laugh with a look or a gesture. She made friends everywhere she went in her 95 years, and we will all miss her.
The family asked that in lieu of flowers, you send a donation to your charity of choice in her memory.
No funeral is planned at this time.
