William A. Siegmund Sr., 82, a native of Illinois and a resident of Foley, died Sunday, May 4, 2008 at his residence.
He was the son of Carl and Emily Schultz. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy on board the USS Sylvania. He was a member of the Foley V.F.W. and the American Legion. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Gulf Shores. He was a Mason in Lodge at Wilmington, Del., and a life member of the National Rifle Association. He worked with Delmarva Power Co., in Deleware for 34 years. He was a volunteer at the Summerdale Senior Center.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie, daughter-in-law, Karen L. Siegmund and his grandson, William A. Siegmund III.
Survivors include a son, William A. Siegmund Jr. of Milton, Del.; uncle, Paul Schultz of Foley; and cousin, Tim Russell of Foley.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. with a memorial service at 3 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2008 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Foley.
