Silverhill welcomes Ride2Recovery participants

Participants in the 2013 Gulf Coast Ride2Recovery Challenge get back on the road Tuesday at Oscar Johnson Park in Silverhill. Ride2Recovery began in California in 2008 as a way to provide rehabilitation for wounded soldiers. This is the second year for the Gulf Coast Ride, which left New Orleans on Sunday, March 3 on a six-day, nearly 400-mile journey to the State Capitol in Tallahassee, Fla. A total of 10 challenges are scheduled this year with each ride limited to 200 participants. Tuesday’s leg of the journey went from Mobile to Orange Beach, about 61 miles, then down the beach to Panama City on Wednesday and Thursday before ending Friday in Tallahassee.
