Sarah Jayne Smith, 13, a native and resident of Bay Minette, died Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009 at her residence.
Survivors include her mother, Kristy Emmons of Bay Minette; her father, Darren Smith of Bay Minette; two brothers, Bret Smith and Brent Smith, both of Bay Minette; two sisters, Bailee Smith and Mary Elyse Allen, both of Bay Minette; grandmother and caregiver, Sarah Jane Moorer of Bay Minette; grandfather, Floyd Earl (Sandra) Emmons Jr. of Bay Minette; and grandmother, Melissa Ezell of Daphne; a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 7 from the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with the Rev. Helen Stewart and Chaplain Beth Devan officiating. Burial followed at Bay Minette Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Wesley Rider, Will Conoly, Bret Smith, Brent Smith, Mark Maestas and Keaton Coleman. Honorary pallbearers were the Shriners of Abba Temple Center.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Abba Shrine Center Transportation Fund, 7701 Hitt Road, Mobile, AL 36507.
Arrangements were made by Norris Funeral Home, Bay Minette.
