Maj. Robert Smith, 84, a native of Muleshoe, Texas, and a resident of Daphne, died Thursday, April 2, 2009 in Daphne.
He was a U.S. Air Force pilot serving, World War II, Vietnam and Korea. He attended First Baptist Church of Spanish Fort. He was an avid golfer and marshaled for many years at Lake Forest Golf Club and Rock Creek Golf Club.
Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Smith of Daphne; seven children, Vicki Lynn Smith, Lora Lee Dahl, Robin Annette McCroskey, Susan Jeanette Simpkins, Robert Smith II, Rhonda Smith Moffatt and Lisa Smith Gertzen; 16 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Denzil Lee Smith and John W. Smith.
Visitation begins at 1 p.m. with a memorial service at 2 p.m. Monday, April 6 from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
