Vickie Jo Smith, 56, a native of Columbia, Miss., and a resident of Lillian, died Thursday, June 19, 2008.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Lillian, the Honduras Mission Team, Mexico Medical Mission Team and a Sunday School teacher. She was also a member of the American Nursing Association, Flora Bama Friends & Co., Smith Kayaking and Fishing Team and the Louisiana/Alabama Floundering Team.
She was a devoted, loving wife and mother. She had a wonderful nursing career of 34 years. She touched many lives in an inspirational and positive way. She loved life, living and growing her beautiful plant garden. Vickie is with us as an Angel today and always.
Survivors include her husband, Danny Smith of Lillian; two sons, Gabriel Smith of Baton Rouge, La., and Jeshua (Amy) Smith of DeRidder, La.; daughter, Rebekah Smith of Naperville, Ill.; granddaughter, Caroline Smith of DeRidder, La.; her parents, Doyle and Helen Williamson of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; sister, Mary Sue Rogers of Hattiesburg, Miss.; brother, Jimmy Dan Williamson of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; mother-in-law, Juanita Smith of Fairhope; other relatives and friends.
Visitation begins at 2 p.m. with services at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 22 at the Lillian United Methodist Church, Lillian with Dr. James A. Belcher officiating.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Baptist Medical Dental Mission of DeRidder, La., P.O. Box 1222, DeRidder, LA, 70634.
