DAPHNE, Ala. — Three businesses at the Jubilee Square Shopping Center on U.S. Highway 90 lost $3,000 in merchandise when robbers broke windows and stole the goods on Wednesday around 1 a.m., according to Daphne police.

“It was a snatch-and-grab job,” police Lt. Jud Beedy said.

Cellular South, Wade Jewelers and Monster Audio lost cellular phones, jewelry and stereo equipment during the robbery, he said.

Police have some leads, but cannot share them at this time, he said.

Anyone who witnessed suspicious people near the businesses Wednesday night, or those who’ve been asked to purchase possibly stolen items are encouraged to call the Daphne Police Department at 621-9100.

“If somebody’s trying to sell something or trade something and it seems too good to be true, it probably is too good to be true,” Beedy said.
