My nephew is a U.S. Army captain (name withheld on request) currently serving his second combat deployment. He is serving in Afghanistan and recently informed me that his unit desperately needed hand-held radios for non-secure communications.
After contacting some local businesses and residents in Baldwin County, I have 30 units ready to ship within a two-day period. This patriotic display came in the form of very generous contributions from Dr. Barry Booth, Dr. Chris Bondurant, Dr. Todd Chambliss, Dr. Albert Corte, Dr. Chris Donald, Dr. Glenn Glass, Dr. James Corte, Dr. Chris McManus, Paul and Donna Wilson of Silverhill and Capt. Mike Rowell (of the Orange Beach fishing boat “Annie Girl”).
Without hesitation, these individuals donated so that our servicemen will have the equipment to help increase their capability and safety.
Please join me in thanking them for their support of our combat troops.
