GULF SHORES, Ala. — The Hangout Beach, Music and Arts Festival has announced a partial lineup of performers for its inaugural year including Zac Brown Band, John Legend, Alison Krauss and Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas, The Black Crowes and Gov’t Mule.
Additional performers are listed on the Web site, and more artists are expected to be announced in the following weeks.
More than 60 bands are expected to perform on Alabama’s sandy white beaches May 14-16, from noon to 11 p.m. each day at The Hangout and nearby public beach, located at 101 E. Beach Blvd. in Gulf Shores, at the southern end of Alabama Highway 59.
“We are very excited to announce the initial lineup that includes artists that have more than 40 Grammys combined,” said A.J. Niland, owner of HUKA Entertainment. “Performing in Gulf Shores with the Gulf of Mexico as the backdrop, this will be one of the biggest beach parties this area has ever seen.”
Artists are scheduled to perform on four stages, including two main stages placed directly on the beach.
Festival organizers also have other activities still to be announced that are planned for patrons.
Attendance will be limited to 35,000 people per day.
