South Alabama Comic Con will bring a weekend of pop culture, cosplay and entertainment to the Mobile Convention Center on Sept. 27-28.
The two-day event will feature celebrity guests from film, television, anime, comic books and cosplay. Stars will be available for autographs and photo opportunities, though those fees are not included in the price of admission.
Along with meet-and-greets, attendees can expect a full slate of activities, including fan panels, Q&A sessions, workshops, video game and tabletop tournaments and costume contests. Cosplayers from across the region are set to appear in elaborate, handmade and store-bought costumes while competing for prizes.
Vendors and artists from across the country will also line the convention floor, selling collectibles, comic books, T-shirts, artwork and even swords. Fan groups representing popular franchises will host displays celebrating their favorite universes.
Doors open Saturday, Sept. 27, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 28, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Mobile Convention Center, 1 S. Water St.
Advance tickets are $30 per day or $50 for the weekend. Military members — active duty, retired or former — with proof of service can purchase advance tickets for $25 per day. Children 10 and under are admitted free with a paid adult ticket, limited to two children per adult. Ticket prices will increase at the door.
More details and advance ticket sales are available at www.southalabamacomiccon.com.
