The South Baldwin Chamber Foundation’s Junior Ambassadors (JAs), in partnership with the City of Foley, served hot cocoa and snacks at the annual Christmas in the Park tree lighting ceremony on Friday, Dec. 3. Then, on Saturday, Dec. 4, the JAs opened the “Whoville Hair Salon” during “Let It Snow” in Foley’s Heritage Park. The JAs styled kids’ and adults’ hair, giving them stylish Whoville looks. The treats and hairdos were free to the public.
The JAs program is a South Baldwin Chamber Foundation youth leadership program tailored to assist high school juniors from Foley High and Elberta High in identifying personal leadership potential through exposure to economic development opportunities, government awareness, environmental stewardship and civic engagement through community service. More than 300 students have completed the program since 1998.
