FOLEY, Ala. — The South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce will present its next installment of the Leadership Lunch Series next week, with Business Council of Alabama President/CEO William Canary serving as the keynote speaker.
The event is set for noon Wednesday, Aug. 20, at Foley Civic Center in Foley. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Tickets are $15 and include a catered lunch.
Canary became the president and chief executive officer of the Business Council of Alabama (BCA) in March of 2003 after serving as the president and CEO of the American Trucking Associations in Washington, D.C.
“The BCA is the voice of business and industry in Alabama representing more than 750,000 working Alabamians through its member companies, which come from all segments of Alabama’s economy,” Chamber Relationship Manager Laura Giggy said in a news release. “In 2004 BCA and the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama united to create a business advocacy network that represents working Alabamians. BCA has partnered with the National Association of Manufacturers to create the BCA’s Manufacturing Advocacy Council which gives Alabama manufacturers a strong voice. More recently, BCA has been a driving force to create the Business and Education Alliance in Alabama which unites these two communities for the common purpose of enhancing the educational opportunities for Alabama’s school children and future workforce.”
No tickets to next week’s Leadership Lunch will be available at the door. They must be purchased in advance by contacting the chamber at 943-3291, stopping by the organization’s office, located at 112 W. Laurel Ave. in Foley or visiting SouthBaldwinChamber.com.
Foley Mayor John Koniar will close out the 2014 Leadership Lunch series this fall with his “State of the City” presentation. The $12 tickets are on sale now.
