South Baldwin Community Theatre presents its first scholarship fundraiser

GULF SHORES, Ala. — Tons of local talent will be appearing for two nights only at the South Baldwin Community Theater, as the SBCT hosts their Performing Arts Scholarship Fundraiser.

Friday, Nov. 6 and Saturday, Nov. 7 are the dates for the event, which will feature musical performances from classics like “Showboat” and “Cinderella”, to more modern works such as “Evita”, “The Little Mermaid” and “Sweeney Todd”.

Some of the talent appearing includes Glennellen Anderson, Leeane Stilley, Chad Lambert, Katie Lambert, Marsha Guyer, Bailey Kennon, Valeri Johnson, and James Keith Posey.

SBCT is in the midst of its best season ever, already having presented “The Sound of Music”, with other award winning shows lined up including “All Through the House” during December, and 2010 events such as “Forever Plaid”, “Moon Over Buffalo”, “The Mousetrap”, “Disney’s High School Musical” and “School House Rock Live”.

“These two evenings of musical performing arts will be about a chance to see some of Baldwin County’s talent and raising money to help further a student’s education in this field,” said Posey, who is also directing the shows.

Scholarship applications will be available in January at the SBCT.

Tickets for the fundraiser are $20 and are available at the theater box office, 2022 W. 22nd Street in Gulf Shores. Operating hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Or you can call 251-978-6721.
