Both Friends of the Foley Library and the Magnolia Springs Library held book sales this past weekend.

In Foley, it was an annual, two-day event that drew hundreds attendees to the Foley Civic Center looking for bargains on books, videos and compact disks. According to Mary Adams of FOFL, proceeds from the fundraiser benefit the Foley Public Library, with a large focus on funding children’s programs.

In Magnolia Springs, Saturday’s fundraiser was two-tiered. The library was the setting of a book and multimedia sale, which Librarian Alida Given said will fund the purchase of more books. Once finished shopping, patrons of the event were encouraged to head to Magnolia Springs Golf Course to purchase a barbecue plate, with proceeds also benefiting the library.
