Spanish Fort dental team starts canned food drive

SPANISH FORT, Ala. — Drs. Bellerjeau, MacRae and Kern, of Azalea City Dental, announced their partnership to accept canned and pre-packaged food and new clothing donations on behalf of the local chapter of the Salvation Army.

To celebrate the March 8 grand opening of their new family dental practice in Spanish Fort, this joint effort between Azalea City Dental and the Salvation Army starts on March 8 and continues through March 31, at Azalea City Dental’s new office located at 6593 Spanish Fort Blvd., near Highway 225 and the Bass Pro Shops Shopping Center, next door to All Baldwin Cleaners.

For any patient that brings a donation of canned or pre-packaged, store-bought goods or any new clothing resource with a $10 value or more, they will receive a $100 account credit as a thank-you, which is good for any “out-of-pocket” expense at the dental office. All goods and clothing collected on behalf of this effort by Azalea City Dental will be donated to the local Salvation Army.

Bellerjeau, MacRae and Kern and their dental team will be providing, in addition to the initial exam and digital x-rays, basic dental care and hygiene instruction to every new patient, including an oral cancer screening, blood pressure screening, a basic hygiene care kit and more.

Dr. Scott MacRae, when asked what prompted the community outreach effort said, “It’s well-known that adults and children alike, right here in our area have basic needs not often met, such as food, water and shelter, not to mention, proper health care. The Salvation Army plays a critical role in our community reaching thousands in need, every year, and we would like to be able to do whatever we can to support their efforts. They do amazing work and are at the very core, grassroots level in getting local families back on their feet again with their support and programs.”
