Mrs. Kim Nolfe's 3rd grade Project Jubilee students from Spanish Fort Elementary School had the opportunity to visit the Humming Star Alpaca Farm in Silverhill, AL. While there they learned about the alpacas from farm owners, Andy & Cheryl Bowen. The Bowens explained the alpaca's origin and gave some historical information about these interesting animals. The students all got to learn about the alpaca fur, how to card it and the many uses it has.

The students were also treated to an art activity with Becky Bowen called Quipa. The students (and the alpacas) had a great time checking each other out and learning more about each other!
