SPANISH FORT, Ala.—Marina Brooks’ artistic panache won’t soon be forgotten thanks, in large part, to the 2011 AT&T Real Yellow Pages.

Brooks, a senior at Spanish Fort High School, competed against middle and high school art students countywide for the honor of having one of her original creations featured on the cover of the newest Baldwin County directory, slated to begin delivery June 16.

Vicky Cook, fine arts and media supervisor for the project, applauded the depth of talent local schools produce and applauded Brooks for capturing the essence of a native white heron perched on a post.

“Baldwin County residents will be reminded all year long as they use the AT&T Real Yellow Pages of the tremendously talented art students we have, and what an important role the arts play in our lives.”

The telecommunications company will begin distributing some 104,000 copies of the directory in mid-June, but Gigi Armbrecht, regional director for AT&T Alabama, reminded Baldwin County residents that Real Yellow Pages directories are recyclable, and the paper used to print the directories contains recycled materials.

Residents and businesses can call the AT&T Real Yellow Pages Project ReDirectory help line, listed on the directory cover, at 800-953-4400 for directory recycling information in this community, she said.

“We are fortunate AT&T is committed to making the directory covers special on the outside and tailoring the content inside to best serve the needs of our communities,” said Baldwin County Commission Chairman Frank Burt Jr. in a written statement.
