The Spanish Fort Public Library recently announced the winners for its Summer Reading Award competition.

Librarian Tracy Cole said she and the library staff were thrilled with how the program went this summer.

“Since this was our first year being able to do this, we weren’t sure how well it was going to go, but we had a tremendous amount of public participation,” Cole said. “While we had definite winners in all of the categories, we’d like to think everyone is a winner for participating in the reading program this summer. We checked out a lot of books and really got people coming in, which is exactly what we wanted.”

Cole said she was thankful for the public’s support, as well as the many sponsors that helped make the program a reality.

“We could not have done this without our sponsor businesses: Cain’s Piggly Wiggly, Ono Pet Photography, Missy Conrad—Mary Kay, HealthSource Chiropractic, Magic Nation Series, Ensec Pest & Lawn, Centennial Bank, McMurphy Orthodontics and Welcome Friends,” Cole said. “I can’t express how much their continued support means to us and the people in our community.”
