Spanish Fort is on its way to becoming an Alabama Community of Excellence, and you can help.

Spanish Fort is one of six communities selected to participate in this year’s Alabama Communities of Excellence program, which is geared toward helping communities develop and implement strategic plans for orderly growth.

Spanish Fort is one of the fastest growing cities in Alabama’s fastest growing county.

Participating in this program will help insure that the city has both a strategic plan and a comprehensive plan in place.

The city is asking that citizens take the time to fill out the Alabama Communities of Excellence General Community Assessment survey to help us see what areas the community is doing well in and in what areas the community could use some improvement on.

The community assessment survey covers leadership, planning, infrastructure, economic development and quality of life.

By filling out the survey, citizens will be helping complete the first step for Spanish Fort to receive the Alabama Community of Excellence designation.

Surveys are available at Spanish Fort City Hall, the Spanish Fort Public Library, the Spanish Fort Senior Center and the Spanish Fort Police Department.

The survey can also be filled out online at surveymonkey.com/s/N8Q63YR-SpanishFort.
