"The big plan is to put together a whole bunch of intellectually disabled bowling leagues in Alabama and the Southeast," SNAP President and Director Joe Marshall said.
The immediate plan is to form league teams comprised of Baldwin County children who are intellectually disabled, including those who have Autism.
"We already have 18 teams in the Mobile league," Marshall said. "We hope to
eventually have that many here."
Strike City Lanes Operator Charlie Sullivan said he sees the league as "another opportunity to get involved in the community."
Unlike the Mobile bowling alley, Sullivan is donating players' fees. "There is no charge for the athletes," Marshall said. "The adult partners will pay the regular bowling fee."
He said players will be divided into 4-person each player will be partnered with an adult or teen who will be rr bowling fee."
