GULF SHORES, Ala. — The 38th annual National Shrimp Festival Poster was recently selected by this year’s Committee.

Stephanie Spradling was chosen as the winning artist from 97 total entries that were submitted. Spradling is a resident of Daphne and a graduate of Auburn University. She has done illustration work for Auburn Magazine and Bear Advertising. She also enjoys painting children’s room murals and other specialty painting.

The Shrimp Festival Poster serves as an annual representation for one of the premier events in the South and the entire Alabama Gulf Coast.

The annual National Shrimp Festival was recently recognized by Southern Living Magazine readers and the Alabama Department of Tourism as one of the favorite festivals in the South and Alabama.

Entering into its 38th year, the festival draws an estimated 300,000 people and has an economic impact to the Gulf Coast area of an estimated $28 million dollars.

The 38th annual National Shrimp Festival will take place at the city of Gulf Shores’ main public beaches with the help of a dedicated and talented staff of 300 volunteers.

Admission to the festival is free and this year’s dates are Oct. 8-11.

The Chamber is pleased to have Zatarain’s as the festival’s presenting sponsor for a second year. The festival is produced by the Alabama Gulf Coast Area Chamber of Commerce and sponsored in part by the Alabama Gulf Coast Convention and Visitors Bureau, Baldwin EMC, CenturyTel, Coca-Cola, Miller-Lite, Nanny’s Lemonade, Organized Seafood Association of Alabama, RE/MAX of Orange Beach, Royal Prestige Cookware, and Winn Dixie.
