“Over the river and through the woods, to…”
To St. John’s Country Bazaar we go.
Started 18 years ago as a fundraiser for the Altar Sodality, the annual event has grown steadily over the years. Proceeds are used for Parish activities and many outreach ministries.
Gallons of St. John’s famous gumbo will be sold on both days with a choice of seafood or chicken gumbo. Quart containers “to go” will also be available.
Crafts for sale will include okra angels, elves and snowmen, as well a variety of crab shell dolls. A new item this year will be lobster claw Santas. Handmade aprons, microwave heating pads, and nativity sets are a sampling of other items that will be available on the arts and crafts table.
The cake sale will offer cakes, pies, cookies, breads and cinnamon rolls for your “sweet tooth.”
On Sunday, Bingo games will begin at 10 a.m.
Hamburgers, salads, sandwiches and bowls of gumbo will be available throughout the day. A drawing for “a sleigh of bucks” will be held after Bingo.
