St. Paul's Seventh Annual Market Days kicks off today

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Magnolia Springs will hold its Seventh Annual Market Days today and Saturday.

The Market Days will open at 9 a.m. and close at 3 p.m. both days.

Adelynn Boudin, this year’s coordinator for the event, said all the funds raised will benefit the preservation of the historic chapel and fund some of the church’s programs.

“We use this money for our outreach programs. We are very active in Habitat for Humanity, we support Wilmer House in Mobile and Ecumenical Ministries. We also have a food pantry where we basically fulfill the needs in the community as people come to us,” said Boudin.

Among the delicious offerings from the church will be delicacies from the St. Paul’s All Day Bakery, a food court, canned goods, Christmas cards and premade frozen casseroles. The market days will also host vendors offering everything from fine art to arts and crafts.

“In the food booth we will have chili, sausage dogs, hot dogs and red beans and rice. My last name is Boudin, I am making them so I know they are cajun,” said Boudin.

The market will also offer casseroles straight out of the freezer.

“Our ladies get together and make frozen casseroles and we sell them out of the freezer. We will have chicken spaghetti, shrimp creole, my red beans and sausage, award-winning chili, brunswick stew and chicken and corn bread dressing.” said Boudin.

The baker for Jesse’s Restaurant in Magnolia Springs will also provide cookies and cinnamon rolls on Saturday. There will be a bake sale both days.

Boudin is anticipating 27 vendors at this year’s market.

“They will offer everything from bird houses, sun catchers, plants and jewelry. There will be a variety of vendors,” said Boudin.

“We have been successful every year,” said Boudin. She hopes that this year is no different.
