John Cullen Stacey, 83, a native and resident of Bay Minette, died Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope.

He was a pharmacist. He owned and operated Stacey’s Drug Store for 40 years and he was a World War II veteran having served with the U.S. Army. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Bay Minette; life deacon and trustee; charter member of the Bay Minette Kiwanis Club and formerly served on the Board of Directors at Southtrust Bank.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy McKay Stacey of Bay Minette; two daughters, Susan (Bob) Darby of St. Simons Island, Ga., and Jane (George) McKenney of Atlanta; three grandsons, Thomas Smoot of New York, Cullen McKenney and Clayton McKenney, both of Atlanta; and nephew, James H. Stacey of Foley.

Graveisde funeral services were held Thursday, Aug. 2 at at Bay Minette Cemetery with Dr. Henry Cox officiating.

The family requests memorial donations be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1628, Bay Minette, AL 36507.
