Myrtle Louise McMillan Stamps, 90, a resident of Bay Minette, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009 at North Baldwin Infirmary.
She attended Huntington College and was a graduate of the University of Alabama. She was a retired elementary school teacher for the Baldwin County School System; was a member of the ADK; and a long time member of the First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Irving Stamps Sr.
Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Stamps (Roland) McNeely of Oxford, Jeannie Stamps Hinote of High Point, N.C., Laurie “Hika” Stamps (Harold) Ross of Urbandale, Iowa; son, Irving Stamps Jr. of Bay Minette; three sisters, Carolyn Noonan of Orange Beach, Julia Weaver of Daphne and Anne Glover of Mobile; three brothers, Laurie McMillan of Huntsville, Cecil McMillan of Montgomery and Billy McMillan Sr. of Bay Minette; six grandchildren, Tommy McNeely Jr. of Birmingham, Bryan McNeely of Talladega, Gavin McNeely of Savannah, Ga., Stephanie Hinote and Chaney Schultz of Mobile and Ashley Stamps of Bon Secour; seven great-grandchildren, Taylor McNeely of Birmingham, Logan McNeely of Orange Beach, Alexanna McNeely and Victoria McNeely of Birmingham, Morgan McNeely of Talladega, Caroline Schultz and Lilly Schultz of Mobile; and one great-great-grandchild, Kaylee Steber of Bon Secour.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 18 at the First United Methodist Church, Bay Minette, with the Rev. Jeff Spicer officiating. Burial followed at Bay Minette Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Billy McMillan Jr., Tommy McNeely Jr., Bryan McNeely, Gavin McNeely, Taylor McNeely, Jimmy McMillan and the honorary pallbearer was Virgil McMillan.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 338, Bay Minette, AL 36507.
