ROBERTSDALE-Baldwin County High School's senior standout Michael Stanley wasn't satisfied with his best game in his career Friday night as he and his fellow Tigers defeated the Robertsdale Golden Bears 84-46.

BCHS came out strong to quiet down the noise of the crowd in the first quarter with a resounding 20-9 lead. Robertsdale came into foul trouble early with 10 team fouls in the first quarter.

The Tigers kept the full court press that they are accustomed to for the second quarter and maintained a 12 point lead going into the halftime break, 33-21. Stanley had 16 points going into half time, while teammate Chaleston Gandy aided with six.

Coming back from the break Stanley was on fire as he hit three three point shots in a row to extend Baldwin County's lead 42-21. The Tigers added another seven points on the score board before Robertsdale's Kent Langham nailed a two point lay up with 4:11 left in the third quarter. BCHS closed out the third quarter 57-35.

After a 16-2 jump early in the fourth quarter BCHS's coach Lorenzo Hunter pulled his top players to give the underclassmen some playing time. Shortly after getting into the game Baldwin County's David Simmons was injured on a foul and freshman Xavier Dortch came in to shoot the free throws and made both, his first points of his varsity career.

The Tigers closed out the game with the 84-46 victory, giving them a 7-0 start, ranked seventh in Class 6A.

Stanley finished with the game with 35 points beating his all time best of 31 point set last year against Davidson. Charleston Gandy had 17 points for the Tigers.

Robertsdale's Langham finished the game with 19 points and Quenton Evans had 10 points for the night.

Both teams will be back in action Friday night, December 11 when Robertsdale plays host to Daphne at 7:30 and Fairhope travels to BCHS.

BCHS beats Satsuma

BAY MINETTE-The Tigers of Baldwin County High School defeated the Satsuma Gators last Tuesday night with a 66-47 victory.

The Gators led the first quarter of action 11-10 but Charleston Gandy's two point jump shot and a three point play by sophomore Larry Rodgers in the early seconds of the second quarter brought the Tigers back to a four point lead. The lead would change once again when Satsuma gained nine unanswered points to give them the 20-15 lead. With a 15-2 run late in the second quarter BCHS pulled out a head with a 30-22 lead going into half time.

The Satsuma Gators would not see another lead the entire second half as the Baldwin County out scored the Gators 20-13 in the third quarter and 16-10 in the fourth quarter to take the 66-47 win and extend their win streak 6-0.

Michael Stanley led the Tigers with 27 points while teammate Gandy had nine points.
