SPANISH FORT, Ala. — Ginny Lampkin, 12, a Spanish Fort Middle School student, won first place in the Junior High/Middle Division for her photography entry in the 2009-10 Alabama PTA Reflections Program.
Ginny’s entry was a photograph of a 1951 Ford F5 V8 truck that is stored at her grandparent’s farm in Pine Apple.
The Reflections Program is a National PTA cultural arts competition started in 1969 and administered by state PTAs. A new theme each year is chosen and students create work at home or in school in literature, music, photography, visual arts, dance choreography and film/video profuction.
The theme for this year’s event was “Beauty is…”
The Reflections Program allows students in kindergarten through 12th grades to express themselves through creative arts.
Alabama PTA awards a certificate of participation and a medal to each student who reaches the state level of judging.
