State sets meeting to address chronic labor shortages in South Alabama

MONTGOMERY, Alabama - The Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries will hold a meeting with South Alabama farmers and agribusiness owners, which will be held Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2 p.m., in the Jon Archer Agricultural Center, 1070 Schillinger Road, Mobile.

The purpose of the meeting is to bring agribusiness owners and farmers together with federal and state officials for the purpose of helping to solve the chronic labor shortages created by Alabama's new immigration law.

The agenda of the meeting with the order of presentation is shown below. Due to the number of presenters, Due to the number of presenters, everyone is asked to limit their remarks to 10 minutes maximum. A question and answer session will be held at the end of the program.
