FOLEY, Ala. — The South Baldwin Republican Women’s group recently hosted Alabama’s First Lady at its monthly meeting at the Gilft Horse Restaurant in Foley.
Becky Vasko introduced Diane Bently at the meeting, which was held Tuesday, July 26.
“Behind every great man is a great woman,” she said.
At the meeting the state’s First Lady talked about how blessed we are to live in a state that has so many natural resources and she has already visited many places and she enjoys the “little towns” especially.
She talked about her background and how she met her husband; that she became a stay-at-home mom when they started their family. She enjoys quilting when she can.
She said she is very concerned about the needs of the people of Alabama, she is encouraging volunteers and suggested there is much more that can be done to help the people who lost everything in the recent tornadoes and oil spill.
