Staying young through exercise

Robertsdale resident Renee Williams keeps young and helps others by leading fitness classes twice a week at the Loxley Civic Center. A native of Smiths Station, Williams’ nurse training she received long ago led to a love of fitness and a desire to help others become fit. Right now, Williams said, she has about 10 to 12 people working out regularly, but they have had as many as 40. Classes are held every Monday and Thursday with workouts beginning around 5:45 p.m. each night and going for about an hour. The workouts are a mixture of a Zumba-style dance workout, Pilates and circuit training. Anyone wishing to join the class can call Williams at 251-947-5012 or they can call Joey Knight or Beryl Allen at the Civic Center, 251-964-7733.
