It's not too late to register a batch of chili for Saturday's "Chili for Charity" cook-off, according to Ecumenical Ministries Director Sally Deane.
"Right now we have about 35 teams," Deane said, "but families or businesses can register until Friday at noon."
Now in its eleventh year, Chili for Charity is at Oak Hollow Farm from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m., at 14210 Greeno Road in Fairhope. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children and $30 for admission with a commemorative bowl from Tom Jones Pottery.
In addition to all-you-can-eat chili, there will also be games and balloons for kids, live music from Blind Dog Mike and the Howlers, a bake sale, a mechanical bull and Elvis tribute artist Shane Tucker.
"Last year we had close to 2,000 people," Deane said, "but the weather this weekend is supposed to beautiful and we expect more.
"This is a really good social event for Baldwin County in a friendly, fun atmosphere."
Proceeds from the chili cook-off go to support social service programs at Ecumenical Ministries, Inc. For more information, call 251-928-3430 or 251-943-3445.
