Dorothy Marcille Strain, 86, born Feb. 4, 1922 in Hanceville, former resident of the Centerhill Community and a resident of Remlap, died Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at St. Vincent’s Blount Hospital in Oneonta.
She was a registered nurse and worked at the V.A. Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, and her parents, Glover M. Johnson and Pearl Wilhite Johnson.
Survivors include two sons, Milton Ralph (Regina Whitaker of Remlap and Randall T. Strain of Elberta; sister, Ellowene Webb of Cullman, brother-in-law, Joseph Cotten of Hoover, two grandchildren, Tara M. Whitaker and Brandon (Stacy) Whitaker.; and one great-grandchild, Peyton Whitaker.
Visitation begins at noon with funeral services at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 11 at from the chapel of Cullman Heritage Funeral Home, Cullman. Burial will follow at Center Hill Cemetery in Hanceville.
