BAY MINETTE, Ala. — The North Baldwin Striders is planning a 5K Heart of Champions run and a 1-mile fun run Oct. 4, and proceeds will benefit North Baldwin Schools.
The 5K run begins at 8 a.m. at Bay Minette Kid’s Park. The 1-mile run/walk begins at 9 a.m.
All proceeds are earmarked for Bay Minette Elementary, Bay Minette Intermediate, Pine Grove, and the Baldwin County High School cross-country team.
Participants may pre-register in person at the North Baldwin Infirmary Wellness Center until Oct. 3. The cost is $18 ($12 for students) and $20 after Sept. 26. Entry forms are also at the Omni YMCA in Daphne, and McCoy’s in Mobile.
Race packets will be available at North Baldwin Infirmary Wellness Center Oct. 3, or on race day at the park.
Divisions and awards include overall, first, second and third male and female; masters, first male and female; grand masters, first male and female; senior grand masters, first male and female;
Overall 5K race walk, first, second and third male and female; 1 mile run, first, second, and third male and female. Participation HOC Bracelets will be presented to all finishers. Participants are eligible for only one award.
A trophy and $200 will be awarded to the school with the most participants, including parents, guardians, and faculty.
Pizza, sandwiches, fruit, smacks and beverages will be available after the race, and door prizes will be awarded.
