William Franklin "Bill" Stringer, 50, a native of Bogalusa, Miss., and a resident of Poplarville, Miss., died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009 in Spanish Fort.

He attended Eastern Shore Baptist Church. He was active with Spanish Fort Dixie Youth Baseball, former president of Daphne High School Quarterback Club. He was also an active supporter of the American Diabetes Association and participated in short-term missions with the Baptist Medical and Dental Missions International.

Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Susan Stringer of Spanish Fort; son, Will Stringer of Daphne; daughter, Sarah Walker of Spanish Fort; his parents, Dr. Willie and Anne Stringer of Poplarville, Miss.; brother, John Stringer of Poplarville; two sisters, Susan Smith and Becky Dale, both of Poplarville; numerous other loving relatives.

Visitation was held Sunday, Feb. 15 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne. Funeral services and visitation were held Monday, Feb. 16 at Eastern Shore Baptist Church. Interment followed at Jubilee Memorial Gardens.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Jackson, Attn: Nicaragua Fund, 214 College Ave., Jackson, AL 36545 or to the American Diabetes Association.
