Striplin-Brindle

Eleanor Fadely Striplin and Patrick John Brindle were united in marriage June 27, 2009 in a family ceremony in the Bounds Chapel at St James Episcopal Church in Fairhope.

Dr. Robert Ellis Dowda, uncle of the bride, who married the bride’s parents 30 years ago, performed the vows. The Rev. Mark Howard Wilson, rector of St James Church, assisted in the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kennedy Striplin of Daphne. Grandparents are James Polk King III of Gadsden and the late Shirley Fadely King, and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Melvin Striplin Sr. of Gadsden.

The bridegroom is the son of Dr. Margaret Cooper Brindle of Alexandria, Va., and Douglas Johnson Brindle of Honolulu. Grandparents are Mrs. William Reich of Pittsburgh, Pa., and the late John Cooper, and Mrs. Edward Brindle of Pittsburgh and the late Mr. Brindle.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.

Katherine Betty Nickerson of Montrose served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Cindy Lorraine Castaneda, Jennie Meade Hawthorne, both of Daphne, and Denae Caldwell of Grand Rapids, Mich.

Michael James Juday of Fairfax, Va., served as best man. Groomsmen were James Kennedy Striplin, brother of the bride, and brothers of the bridegroom, Luke Brindle-Khym of New York, Timothy Edward Brindle and Stephen Douglas Brindle, both of Philadelphia.

Flower girls were Natalia Brindle, of Philadelphia, niece of the groom, and cousins of the bride, Mae Molinda Dowda and Olivia Ellis Dowda, both of Birmingham, and Conley Grace Dowda of Minneapolis, Minn.

Mark Howard Wilson Jr. of Fairhope served as crucifer. Readers were Terri Gentry Wilson and Margaret McDavid Rockett, both of Fairhope.

A seated dinner followed the ceremony.

After a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple reside in Clarksville, Md.
