FAIRHOPE, Ala. — Recently, Terry Lees’ fifth grade class had a special visitor, James Dean, the illustrator of “Pete the Cat.” Dean explained his inspiration for the book came about as a result of watching Pete’s antics. The students highly recommend reading “Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes” and “The Misadventures of Pete the Cat.” Today at 3 p.m., Pete the Cat will be the “Man of Honor” for the Runnin’ in the Streets 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run, which is part of the New Year’s Eve “Dancin’ In the Streets” Party.
