FOLEY, Ala. - Terry Wilhite, communications director for the Baldwin County Board of Education, reports that there was a fight involving seven girls at Foley High School on Friday morning.

Wilhite stated in an e-mail that the fight happened at around 8:30 a.m.

"It appears that some girls brought a community or social media disagreement onto the campus, and this led to the fight," he stated. "Administrators and Foley police brought the matter under control."

Wilhite stated in the e-mail that the girls involved in the incident were mostly ninth- and 10th-graders.

"The students who were fighting will be charged by police and will be disciplined by the school," Wilhite stated. "There were no weapons involved."

A school counselor received a head injury from a fall during the incident and was transported to a hospital in Foley, Wilhite stated in the e-mail, and she was treated and released.
