Rising ninth grader Meagan Kennedy is offering to play tennis for donations on Aug. 5 to help boat captain Mo Shaver in his battle agains cancer.

The fundraiser will be at the Orange Beach Tennis Center from 8 a.m.-noon and 4-7 p.m.

I will be offering to hit with anyone in increments of your choice 10 minutes, 20 minutes, etc. for the duration of your time for whatever you prefer to donate," Meagan said.

Mo Shaver is a local fisherman and businessman battling brain cancer.

"Many of you know Mo as an amazing man," Meagan said. "By donating my time, I am hoping to help raise money for his medical expenses. It will be greatly appreciated if you help me help Mo and his family."
