SUMMERDALE, Alabama — The Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting on Monday, Dec. 12, for the Town of Summerdale, in honor of the dedication of its Municipal Complex on West Lee Avenue. Local residents and area officials toured the 28,500-square-foot facility.
The building was constructed in 2007 as a training facility for First Gulf Bank. When the bank was purchased by RBC, the training center was closed. After negotiations with the new owner, the town bought the site for $1.75 million. The center was built at a cost of about $9 million.
The complex provides space for not only the town administration and council, but also police, building departments, municipal court and other offices.
