SUMMERDALE, Ala. - The Summerdale Town Council authorized Mayor David Wilson at Monday's council meeting to accept bids for the painting of the town's Splash Park.
Wilson said the gazebo and brick would be pressure washed to remove the mold and mildew, and the painting would follow.
"We're getting a couple of bids on it," Wilson said. "That is our special park."
The council also authorized Wilson to enter a maintenance agreement with Cox Pools for the park. Wilson said the company pledged to do a better job under the new contract.
"The equipment is a little complex for anyone to use," Wilson said, noting if the town is not satisfied with the work done by the company, it can end the contract.
In other news, the council:
• approved a resolution supporting Community Action Agency.
• approved an alcohol license for Summerdale Express. "It's had a change of ownership," Wilson said. "It's just a transfer of the license from one name to another."
