The Summerdale Public Library’s summer reading program kicked-off on Tuesday, June 4 with a visit from Miss Vicky with Animal Tales, showing the kids animals that can be found in the constellations in keeping with this year’s theme, “A Universe of Stories.” The show featured the florescent Emperor Scorpion, Artemis the Colorado River Toad, Phoenix the Conure, Celeste the Giant Flemish Rabbit, Ophelia the baby White-Nosed Coatimundi, and finally, Narcissa the Dumeril’s Boa. The show was followed by story time, snacks, and arts and crafts. The Summerdale Public Library’s reading program takes place each Tuesday of June beginning at 10 a.m., and is free.
