“Help help..I am stuck in kelp!” said Mrs. Parsons because the kindergarteners are finding rhyming words. Kindergarten is learning about ocean environments, sorting, and categorizing fish and other creatures. On Oct. 24, kindergarten is taking a walking field trip to a fire station, library and summer scoops. That’s some of the things kindergarten is doing.

High expectations in first grade! In science, first grade is studying animals of Australia. Their literature story is about “The Farmer and the Hat.” Students of the Month were Tristan Paige. In math, they are studying addition of doubles. Good job first grade!

Second grade had a amazing demonstration from Mr. Doolettel and Mrs. Bower, from the Master Environmental. Education. They showed them the water cycle and how it works!

A big thanks to Mr. Doolettel and Mrs. Bower for a wonderful demonstration! In Mrs. Kilgore’s class, Nathan Styner read over 20 books. Lexi Clemins and Lane Lassiter read 15 books. Congratulations Nathan, Lexi, and Lane.

In third grade, they are studying force and motion. Their story this week is about penguin chicks and their life cycle. They’re also studying money. And, a big congratulations goes to Mrs. Donaldson’s class for reaching their 250 point AR goal!!

In fourth grade, Mrs. Kaechele’s class is studying vertebrates and invertebrates. On Oct. 9, Mrs. Kaechele went to a shrimp drag and got animals for the students to dissect.

In fifth grade, Ms. Myrick’s class is preparing to make Native American dioramas to display in the fifth grade hallway. In math, they are solving basic algebra problems.

Sixth grade is so busy this far in the school year. In math, they’re making graphs and analyzing data. In science, they’re learning about igneous and metamorphic rocks.

For middle school this week, students have been busy. Seventh grade has been doing lots of labs on plants. Also, in civics, they’re making their own constitution. In math, they are going to USAtestprep.com to play educational games and take tests.
