Summerdale Town Council appoints co-chairs for historical committee

SUMMERDALE, Ala. - The Summerdale Town Council unanimously approved Edna Woodard and Helen Underwood were named co-chairs of the Summerdale Historical Committee at Monday's council meeting.

Woodard said there are plans to build a museum and archives in the back of the Summerdale Municipal Complex.

"I've already got two pieces that are over 100 years old from Summerdale," she said.

The next step for the newly-named chairs is to form a committee.

"(Woodard and Underwood) will put this committee together," Summerdale Mayor David Wilson said.
