Summerdale Town Council to send letter not supporting chamber merger to South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce

SUMMERDALE, Ala. - The Summerdale Town Council discussed at Tuesday's work session sending a letter to the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce stating the town does not support a potential merger with the Alabama Gulf Coast Area Chamber of Commerce.

Arthur Holk, former Foley mayor, expressed his concerns with a potential merger, Summerdale Mayor David Wilson said.

"He asked us to send a letter to the South Baldwin Chamber," Wilson said, noting Holk thinks the town will be overlooked in a larger, unified chamber.

Some council members said the town already does not have much of a voice in the current South Baldwin Chamber.

"I still think we should send the letter," Wilson said.
