SUMMERDALE, Alabama --- A Summerdale woman is facing assault and drug charges after police say she stabbed at least two people on Wednesday.
Summerdale Police officers responded to a home on Resmondo Road on Wednesday and found 19-year-old Lisa Marie Ramirez with a stab wound between the shoulder blades, according to a release issued by the SPD on Wednesday.
Another unidentified male was stabbed in the arm and ran into the wooded area to avoid further injury. Police also say he also had outstanding warrants and remained at large as of Thursday morning.
Summerdale Police Chief Eddie Ingram and Officer Hugh Bohannon responded to the call and found a partially naked woman at the scene, armed with a sharp weapon and hiding in a wooded area beside a mobile home.
“Officers ordered (her) to drop the weapon, she refused to do so and started cussing and threatening the officers,” according to the release. The suspect, who was reportedly under the influence of narcotics at the time, was then shot with a Taser by one officer which had no effect, according to the release.
She was then sprayed with pepper-spray and again refused to drop the weapon or obey the officer’s commands.
The suspect was disarmed when she was struck on the wrist with a baton. After being disarmed, she attacked the two officers with her fists and violently resisted arrest.
“In my 32-year career this is one of the most physical and dangerous females I’ve ever arrested,” said Summerdale Police Chief Eddie Ingram. “It took all that Officer Bohannon and I could do to get her in handcuffs. We were both kicked and punched several times while trying to restrain the woman. I’m thankful to God that it didn’t escalate further.”
Ramirez was transported to USA Trauma Center in Mobile by MedStar Ambulance and has been admitted. Her condition is not known at this time.
Police arrested Mariena Cecelia Blevins, 29, charged with second degree assault, possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest. Blevins also had several outstanding warrants against her at the time of her arrest. Several additional felony charges are pending further investigation.
Blevins has two prior arrests listed on the Baldwin County Corrections website. Her address was listed as Fort Payne in May of 2011 when she was arrested on criminal trespass charges. She was listed as having a Foley address when she was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and public intoxication by Gulf Shores Police in 2010.
“Due to her drug induced state of mind this woman had super human strength and none of the less lethal weapons we had at our disposal worked on her,” Bohannon said. “This incident could have turned ugly real fast.”
