BAY MINETTE, Alabama — Minimal damage was reported from a forest fire that burned over 60 acres Sunday between Spanish Fort and Bay Minette.
Baldwin County Forester Rickey Fields with the Alabama Forestry Commission said pedestrians passing by reported the fire around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday at the 10-mile marker of Highway 225 in the Bromley-Crossroads area.
There is no word yet on what caused the fire, which burned between 60 and 65 acres before being contained at around 8 p.m. Sunday.
“We have yet to pinpoint the location of where the fire started,” Fields said. “At this point it could be any number of things (that caused the fire).”
No homes were damaged in the fire. Some vehicle and out-building structure damage was reported, Fields said.
