FOLEY, Ala. — A Mobile man was arrested Monday afternoon in connection with several robberies over the past few weeks.
Jason D. Cole, 41, of Mobile, was arrested around 4:30 p.m. by Foley Police after an armed gunman walked into Wendy’s in Foley and presented a note to the cashier demanding money. A witness saw the subject leaving in a red Nissan Altima and called police.
Cole was apprehended in a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle after turning into the Tanger Outlet. The money and note were recovered and the subject was taken to the Foley jail when he remains at this time.
According to Robertsdale Police Sgt. Rex Bishop, Cole is being charged in four robberies over the past few weeks. On Wednesday, June 29 at approximately 5:17 p.m., a man walked into Arby’s in Robertsdale and presented a note demanding money. Arby’s surveillance video captured a photo of the subject wearing a long sleeved shirt and a floppy hat.
The next day, Thursday, June 30, a white male entered Pizza Hut in Robertsdale at 2:30 p.m. presenting a similar note and this time, he left with an undetermined amount of money. On July 2, he did the same routine at Taco Bell in Foley.
“Because of the evidence found in Foley, we were able to connect (Cole) to the Robertsdale robberies,” Bishop said. “He will be charged with four counts of First Degree Robbery, two from Robertsdfale and two from Foley. I anticipate that sometime today he will be transferred to the Baldwin County Correctional Facility in Bay Minette.”
